Count down a duration or to a target date — full-screen, with an alarm, all in your browser.

Runs 100% in your browser
00:00:00

How to use the countdown timer

  1. Set the time. Enter a duration (HH:MM:SS) or pick a target date and time.
  2. Start the countdown. Press Start; pause or reset at any point.
  3. Go full screen. Click Full screen for a big, distraction-free display.

About the countdown timer

A countdown is handy for focus sessions, workouts, cooking, presentations and timeboxing. Because this timer anchors to a real target timestamp instead of counting frames, it does not drift when your browser throttles background tabs. Switch to date mode to track the time remaining until a launch, exam or event. To convert between dates and Unix timestamps, see the epoch converter.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. It tracks the actual wall-clock target time rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate even if the tab is backgrounded or throttled.
Will it alert me when time is up?
When the countdown reaches zero the display flashes and an optional sound plays. Allow sound on first interaction so your browser permits audio.
Can I count down to a specific date?
Yes — switch to "Target date & time" to count down to an exact moment, like a launch or deadline.
Is it full-screen friendly?
Yes. Use the Full screen button for a large, legible display on a projector or second monitor. Everything runs offline in your browser.
